He married Jessica Conseco who was once married to Jose Conseco and they had a beautiful daughter….Of course Garth was married and had two daughters with Brook Burke of Dancing with the stars fame!!…The wedding was full of Playboy bunnies since Jessica was a bunny and the guests included very well known plastic surgeons and playboy bunnies…A match made in heaven…A very LA wedding…..and so much fun!!!!

NIKON’S D700 BOLD NEW FUTURISTIC FULL FRAME DSLR IS HERE!!!

This story of Q begins back in January at the PMA 08, the annual international convention and trade show held in Las Vegas. PMA is the leading annual photo trade show and convention for photo retailers, professional photographers, consumer electronics dealers, professional labs, custom picture framers and event videographers from around the world.
Cherie was one of the beta testers for the Nikon D300 last year so Nikon invited us to Las Vegas to be a part of their showcase and to show some of the images that we shot with that camera.
We had been testing the new D300 since last summer so we had to choose 40 images to showcase alongside one of the best sports shooters in the world, Dave Black. After Cherie finished her talk and showing her images on stage she was approached by this well dressed Japanese gentleman who said he
was interested in having her company, ‘CherieFoto’, help with a brochure about a new product launch and also part of the requirement they needed her woman’s opinion…. (if anyone knows Cherie they know she has an opinion)
I was having this great chat with Dave Black who was waiting in the wings for his presentation for Nikon…and she dragged me away to meet the gentleman from Japan. He asked me a few questions about photographing architecture …so I told him about Nikon’s new 24mm shift lens because I just had a demo from Nikon’s west Coast rep Brett Kennedy….we exchanged cards and by the time we got back to Los Angeles a few days later there were messages telling us to reserve some time for a special project from Japan
and they would be in touch. After several e-mails it was decided that Cherie and I were chosen to do a brochure for Nikon’s new prosumer Next Generation full frame DSLR the D700…….which we nicknamed Q.
After returning to Los Angeles from the PMA we had seven days to get an insane amount of prep to meet the required shot list and four days to shoot it.
Cherie spent days and days on the the telephone organizing every detail for each shot and securing locations.
We worked round the clock to get our team and our theme , scouting locations and casting models…and twisting a few arms along the way. We worked the first day in our studio in Beverly Hills and several days at different locations downtown Los Angeles including one of our favorite buildings, Frank Gehry’s Walt Disney concert Hall.

Objective:
The main objective of this new camera from Nikon, the NIKON D700 (we nicknamed it Q) is to gain the new market for Nikon by launching a more approachable and more agile Nikon FX-format (full-frame) model.

The target: Camera lovers, advanced photo enthusiasts and professional photographers.

Photography lovers who want a full-frame (Nikon FX format) model.

Users who want a D3, but are intimidated by its size and price…this an Affordable D3 for professionals and advanced amateurs.

Every shooter that owns a D3 will want one and even especially if you don’t own a D3 you’ll still want one.

We have been using the new Nikon D700 at CherieFoto since April 1,.2008. We used it to produce images for the brochure for Nikon Japan.

When the shoot was over our friends from Japan left us Q (new Nikon D700) along with a few new lenses: the Nikkor 24mm f/3.5 shift lens and another new Nikon shift lens the PC-E Micro Nikkor 45mm f/2.8 both lenses focuses down to about two inches all manual of course because they are shift lenses.

Cherie and I are in love with these lenses, they are great for fashion and and close-ups…..for you wedding shooters they do great details….we got to use the remarkable Nikon 200mm f/2….and another favorite of mine the 105mm f/2.8 VR….we also got to use a very rare 135mm f/2 which belonged to one of the engineers that designed the lens at Nikon Japan….we have been in lens heaven…we used them to shoot everything and anything that we could get our hands on….. what a joyous camera this new Nikon D700 is, it does a lot if things that the Nikon D3 does…it shares the same sensor and many of the outstanding qualities and features of the Nikon D3 and few of it’s own, like a built in flash and image sensor cleaning…
and it also will auto adjust for DX lenses ……….and has the extended ISO capabilities of it’s big brother 100 – 25,000…this camera is breaking new ground…so we got our wish, D3 image quality in a smaller package….Cherie loves it because it’s smaller and lighter which means we will want to take it everywhere we go.
Don’t get me wrong I am still in awe of my mighty D3 and there so many new things I’m discovering every day that it can do….this camera goes where no other DSLR camera has gone before ….until now the incredible D700.

Our camera arsenal includes ; D100 ; D70; D2X; D200; D300 and our beloved D3 and now the D700 which the many features that we asked for….Nikon is tapping into the mind flow of what the people want.
